Eligibility Criteria for Dalhousie University Postgraduate Scholarships 2023

International Candidates in Canada must apply for Dalhousie University Postgraduate Scholarships and be accepted into a postgraduate program in order to be eligible for one or more scholarships. Please find the standard admission requirements below:

Master’s degree

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree completed in a minimum of 4 years.
  • Candidates must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of Bachelor’s Degree study.
  • Candidates must have a First Degree granted by a highly reputable university.

Doctor of Philosophy

  • Candidates must have a First-class thesis Master’s degree or its equivalent
  • Candidates must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study in the previous degree of study.
  • The majority of applicants to doctoral programs hold a master’s degree. Those with exceptional academic reputation may be eligible for direct entry into some programs.

How To Apply for Dalhousie University Postgraduate Scholarships 2023

All the International Candidates in Canada who wish to apply for the Dalhousie University Postgraduate Scholarships 2023 are expected to follow due process to successfully apply without any issues:

(1) Access the FGS Scholarship Management Platform by logging in. Please choose “Use Dalhousie NetID” to log in if you already have a Dalhousie NetID. If not, kindly create a password and enter your email address. Even if you want to apply for several scholarship opportunities, you only need to set up one account.

(2) You can add a new scholarship application or edit an existing one by choosing from the list of “My applications” on the home page. Please only submit one Harmonized Scholarship application per competition; multiple applications will not be accepted by any applicant and may lead to disqualification.

(3) The self-identification questionnaire can be found in the online scholarship platform, and all applicants are encouraged to fill it out. Administrators can then make sure applicants are placed in the review process for awards that have specific eligibility requirements. The answers you provide in this questionnaire are not visible to the reviewers and will be kept completely private.

(4) Kindly Click on “Next” at the bottom of each page to move forward with the application. Click on “Save”  which will automatically save the scholarship application form and allow candidates to further edit, and update all their provided information during the application process.

(5) As stated in the application, candidates applying are required to obtain official transcripts and upload them directly into the scholarship portal. Transcripts from admission applications won’t be copied by FGS. Transcripts must be compiled into a single PDF before uploading if they came from different institutions. For the harmonized scholarship application process, current Dalhousie students may substitute unofficial grade reports for official transcripts.
